Ghajini is an Indian Hindi language film, directed by AR Murugadoss and released on December 25, 2008. This is a remake of the same director’s Tamil film Ghajini (2005), who is himself a free adaptation of Christopher Nolan Memento’s film. The Hindi version is 80% of Tamil but remixed and the effects have been reshaped for a better result.

The principal interpreters are Aamir Khan and Asin Thottumkal, who takes over the role she had held in the Tamil version. The music is composed by A.R. Rahman.

It is a masala film, mixing action with romantic elements, which explores the life of a rich businessman who develops anterograde amnesia following a violent encounter during which his girlfriend was killed. He tries to avenge her with the help of polaroid photographs and tattoos made on her body. Ghajini has had considerable public success, making it one of the biggest commercial successes of Indian cinema1.
